Castletownbere is beautifully located on the waters edge and it is the main town of the Beara Peninsula- a finger like peninsula in the South West Coast of Ireland. The harbour is the largest white fishing port in Ireland and the second most sheltered harbour in the world. Beara is blessed with some of the most spectacular scenery in Ireland - indeed it has been said that it is Ireland's best kept secret with its idyllic and peaceful surroundings.

The Cametringane Hotel is asking guests and visitors to email or post us suitable photographs that they have taken on the Beara Peninsula or around the West Coast of Ireland for us to publish and expand the photo gallery on this website.  They can be of scenic pictures, family weddings or just interesting photos.  During the course of this year we would like to compile a growing photographic record of pictures taken by the guests and visitors of our hotel, so if you have any digital photos in particular or copies of original prints, as we are sorry that we cannot return any photographs so please don't send us your originals.
